The cost of a given “item” is dependent upon several common variables:
- The type of wood you want to use. The price of wood changes all the time, but the prices for most hardwoods have thus far been less impacted by COVID-19 than common construction materials. Hardwood is priced by board foot (b/f). (b/f is calculated as length ft X width inches X thickness inches /12).
- The size dimensions of item (e.g. table length, width, and thickness) determines the “board feet” of the item.
- The kind of material you want to use for the legs (wood vs. metal) is also a price factor to be considered.
- The style of legs you want to use (simple, moderate, complex) is another price-related factor mostly due to the labor hours required to design and produce them.
The Table below illustrates these common cost factors. Please contact us to discuss your specific product preferences.
Because we do not create products made out of “fake wood” (particle board or MDF covered with a veneer), and because every piece of hardwood is truly unique, we do not create “cookie cutter” furniture pieces. Therefore, you can essentially consider every order to be a “custom order.” However, unusual requests that feature outside the norm of construction designs will typically be a fair bit more expensive primarily due to the extra labor hours required to design and produce them.
